How to import your Letterboxd data into CineFR
You can move your Letterboxd history to CineFR in a few minutes. The ZIP file Letterboxd gives you works as it is, so there's nothing to convert.
Step by step
- On letterboxd.com, open Settings, go to the Data tab (letterboxd.com/settings/data) and choose Export your data. A ZIP file downloads.
- Sign in at cinefr.com. Importing currently works in the browser, on a computer or on your phone.
- Open Settings → Import from other platforms and choose the ZIP file.
- CineFR shows what it found: titles for your Watched list, titles for your Watchlist, ones already in your lists and any it couldn't match. Tap Add to finish.
What comes across
- Watched films from your diary, watched list and ratings, with the date you logged them.
- Your watchlist.
- Not included: star ratings and review text. Titles move, scores and words don't.
Good to know
- The file itself isn't uploaded. Titles are looked up on TMDB and only the matches are saved to your account.
- Titles that can't be matched are listed at the end so you can add them with search.
- Accounts have a storage limit. Very large histories are imported partially, newest titles first.
- If your browser can't open ZIP files, unzip it first and upload the CSV files inside.
